Reaching the Campus: The Tavarez Family’s Mission in Guam

Alex and Danielle Tavarez, along with their 5 children, have lived on Guam for 8 years and serve as campus student ministers at the University of Guam.  They lead Pacific Students for Christ, bringing a gospel presence to the campus by sharing Christ and developing students to reach the campus and equip them to lead in various areas of life and school.

Their primary goal is to engage them with scripture through weekly Bible study and small group discipleship.  Pacific Students for Christ is affiliated with International Fellowship of Evangelical Students and
Intervarsity Link.

Local Missions

Our local missions outreach recently included a powerful and impactful trip to Calvary Chapel Asheville in Mills River, North Carolina, where a team served in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. This mission was about more than just physical cleanup—it was about bringing hope, healing, and the love of Christ to a community deeply affected by disaster.

Volunteers worked hard to help clear debris, repair damaged property, and provide practical support to those who had lost so much. But just as important was the spiritual help offered—praying with residents, encouraging them with Scripture, and simply being present in their time of need. This trip was a beautiful reminder that missions aren't always across the world; sometimes, they’re just a drive away. And when we show up with willing hearts and the power of the Holy Spirit, lives are changed—both theirs and ours.
